The hands must be washed thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. You should not get it in the eyes, mouth, or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas. It is generally safe with little or no side effects. However it may cause application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching and redness) in some people.
