Zita-Piomet 500 Tablet SR is a combination of three medicines used to lower blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is generally prescribed when diet, exercise, and other treatments do not result in adequate glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. Zita-Piomet 500 Tablet SR can be taken with or without food. Take it regularly and at the same time each day to get maximum benefits from it. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage for you and may adjust it periodically based on its effectiveness. Your doctor may also check your blood sugar levels regularly. Continue taking this medication even if you feel fine or your blood sugar levels are stable. If you stop it without consulting your doctor, your blood sugar levels could rise and put you at risk of complications. Remember that it is only part of a treatment program that should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight reduction as advised by your doctor. Your lifestyle plays a big part in controlling diabetes. The most common side effects of this medicine include hypoglycemia, constipation, edema, headache, vomiting, and a metallic taste. Let your doctor know if any of these side effects do not go away or get worse. They may be able to help by adjusting the dosage or by prescribing you an alternate medicine. You should not take it if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus or have acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis. Patients with active bladder cancer or with a history of bladder cancer should also not take this medicine. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about all the other medicines you are taking for any other medical conditions. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it.
